Wait so why do absolute assholes exist? is that because they needed an asshole? I don't see how that's possible.

I'd say people become assholes because of frustration mostly
I kinda like the logic of all that a bit more now though. A terrorist needs terrorizing, a murderer need murdering, a rapist needs raping... Just that part about "saving" doesn't resonate with me I guess.
Well, oversimplifying something so complex as human psyche and behavior (e.g. defence mechanisms) into a catchy slogan usually ends up with such fallacy.
